I read an online article today about Chimpanzees at a zoo being able to trigger stuff like blasts of air at their human visitors, and being able to control fans to cool their space, and trigger snacks being dispensed, and it sounded really neat. It made me wonder though, would they have the same trouble that groups of people sharing a space do, where some are generally warmer and some colder, so they want the temperature set differently to make themselves comfortable?! ^-^

Last night we had big adventures! Juan got off work early and we pulled stuff out of the storage closet and stacked some in the bedroom and put the boxes to sort through in the living room and all was CHAOS for the kitties to explore while we sorted through clothes, papers, and glassware to throw away, give away, and repack for moving. I think I was starting to "fade" when Juan repeatedly suggested we go get food. :-P So we took Yusuke out with us WITHOUT LunaCorn for the first time this visit, and we went to Quiznos for dinner and it was GOOOOD! ^-^ They have salads there now so I HAD to tell LunaCorn about them when we saw her later. They make me want to try one and test out my better tolerance for lettuce, I think I can get away with eating romaine and other wilder leaf lettuces, just not iceberg. It makes my tummy sour. :-( I USED to be able to eat it just fine, I don't know what happened! I LOVED eating lettuce with cheese.... ^-^

After we got home from Quiznos Juan's brother Rick called from the restaraunt and said to come get his birthday enchiladas! Soooo we ALL headed back out and got to the restaraunt and ended up being drafted to WORK! O-o I felt like an imposter impersonating waitstaff as I stood around in my red apron not sure what to do next! :-P I got to help buss the tables as people left, and scrape off the food into the trash to prep the dishes for washing. Later when all the customers were gone LunaCorn and I rolled the silverware into the napkins to be ready the next day the restaraunt is open. That was kind of fun for me, it reminded me of making won-tons. ^-^ Yusuke and Juan were in the back washing dishes, and MELTING from the heat of the ovens! O-o Juan had a scare when he wasn't thinking about his shellfish allergy and he peeled 10 shrimp for an order when his mom asked him to... his lips started swelling up and his face tingled and he had me get him the benadryl in my purse right away so it ended up not being TOO bad but it still worried me! @-@ We didn't finish everything till a little past 11pm and we each had a beer at closing. ^-^

Today we're having one of our nephew's birthday party and there was confusion on where it was going to be HELD last night, but it seems to have been worked out and we're going this evening. I hope all goes well, we haven't really gotten to see this nephew in a few years because of the emotional distance between the parents. The last time I really saw him he was around 3 and now this is his 7th birthday party! O-o

The last few days have been a daze. :-P I'm fighting an icky sinus thing off and it keeps RAINING all the time so we tiptoe through puddles everywhere we go, especially when we're trying to deal with the parking area here behind the apartments. I'm hoping the weather lets up and Yusuke can see what a NICE weather day here is like!

For Juan's birthday, Monkeyboy was in town and we all went to lunch at Jason's Deli and I was insane enough to order HALF a mufalata because I was confused at the sizing. It said the full size was nine inches, so I was picturing it in a subway style bun... but it turned out the nine inches was the DIAMETER of a HUGE ROUND bun! O-o So the half turned out to be the size I had pictured for the WHOLE, hahahahaaa.... I had half left over and ended up eating that for breakfast/lunch the next day. LunaCorn and Yusuke had already had lunch before they met back up with us for the day, so they just cuddled and visited with us while we ate and talked. We took the leftovers back to the apartment and picked up LunaCorn's purse she'd left in her car, and we headed out to the next town to the Comic Book Store and got to visit with our friend who owns it. After that we went back into town and to Maggie Moo's for ice cream! ^-^ I tried the very yellow marshmallow flavor and it was like the yellow marshmallow peeps they have at Easter, only it was ice cream! So I had that and the maggie's fudge, which I think is my "usual" there at this rate, I seem to get something I'm familiar with already for the base scoop and then try something new for the top. Yusuke's dad called him on his cell phone while we were there so his dad now FINALLY knows he's gotten here safe! O-o For some reason every time Yusuke tried to call his dad it didn't go through or no one picked up and it didn't let him leave a message!!!! @-@

We also went to the game store before Maggie Moo's and LunaCorn ran into friends she knew there and got to introduce Yusuke and visit. Monkeyboy helped me get down the Armed and Dangerous game that was WAY up on the wall and he held it for me till I was ready to get it. Juan knew what was going on but he promised not to look while I bought it. :-P Monkeyboy bought Juan XIII that was one of the other games he'd been wanting for a while, and he got Outlaw Golf for himself. When we got back from ice cream we played the Outlaw Golf game first, since that was our chance to see what it was like and it was FUNNY! It looks like a game I might actually be able to play too, so I'm interested in getting it someday. ^-^ Then LunaCorn had to go home, and Juan and Monkeyboy played some of Juan's NBA Street Vol 2 game and then they tried Armed and Dangerous and we all laughed at the Land Shark Gun!!! ^-^ Juan had some trouble adjusting to moving his character with one toggle stick and moving the camera view with the other one, but I think he did ok, he managed to make it through the first objectives, and then Monkeyboy made it through the next set. Monkeyboy had to leave then, and Juan tried to play XIII after that, but he couldn't make it through the first part and was having trouble with his eyes from the movement in the game, so he couldn't play very long and had to recover till he felt better afterwards. I hope he can play these games without motion sickness!! O-o

We had pizza for dinner while Monkeyboy was here and he chipped in so we got Pappa John's to deliver, and Yusuke got to try pineapple on pizza for the first time, since we got hamburger and pepperoni on one, and ham (canadian bacon) and pineapple on the other. I was glad he was brave enough to try the pineapple and I guess he liked it ok because he ate it. ^-^ He had leftover pizza the next morning for breakfast while I had my leftover giant sandwich. :-P

Yesterday I did a TON of sorting through old mail and bills and papers and cleaned out the entire top drawer of the file cabinet that had been just a MESS of bills STUFFED into it from 2000-2003 so most of it was just stuff to throw out, but I found an old round robin story I'd helped write from YEARS ago when I lived at home with my parents, and a letter from my grandmother from when I was getting ready to go under surgery when I was 20 and we didn't know it was my ovarian cyst till they opened me up. I found get well cards from when I was in the hospital too. AND I found the original TITLE for my car! Yay! Now we can sell it or give it to charity like we've been wanting to! ^-^ I also went through the pots and pans and sorted out pots to keep and box up because we're not using ALL of them now, I figure I can box up everything but a large pot and a couple of pans and still manage cooking for the next couple of months. I sorted out pans to give away and I'll see if Yusuke wants some of them as he'll have NOTHING of his own to cook with once he finds a place to rent and moves in. I sorted through the lower shelves of the pantry and discovered a LEAKING GALLON WATER JUG! O-o It was very exciting. It spurted water through the upper corner where it had bent and broken open when something was shoved into it to crush it a bit. I had to mop up the water with paper towels and wipe down all the stuff that was around it getting wet. I sorted out stuff to give away and throw away, I'm ready to let go of some of the pretty bottles we'd been keeping because I liked them. They're pretty but we can get others, and they're not worth paying to move them! :-P

Today Juan is getting off work early and he says he'll help me pull out the boxes from the back of the storage closet so I can sort through the old winter clothes and sweaters I boxed up a couple of years ago with the plan to rotate out the summer and winter clothes. I'm going to sort through my old glassware and give some of it to my parents and give some of it away too. I need to figure out where to start storing the boxes of packed stuff. The storage closet is completely full... I'm wondering if I can fill the hall closet with boxes, and put the boxes of kitchen stuff down IN the lower kitchen cupboards. Half the bedroom closet is filled with boxes already. I need to box up the stuff in the upper shelves of the bedroom closet, but I'm not sure I can put any boxes of stuff UP there as the shelves are weak and can't take much weight. I cleared out from under the long dresser in the bedroom and threw out all the old brochures and ads and stuff we got at the wedding expo before we got married, things with vacation and honeymoon plans. The pictures were pretty but not worth keeping! I didn't even realize that's what those "magazines" WERE down there, haha!

He's here! Well, right now Yusuke has gone with LunaCorn to her choir job, I'm a bit confused as to whether it's a Wednesday night service, or choir practice. We're all kind of drug out and tired today, poor Juan had several cups of the instant coffee he brought with him to work. And LunaCorn and I finished off the last two diet drinks with caffeine in them this afternoon. O-o We're out of diet vanilla pepsi, aaaaah! :-P

Last night/this morning I stayed up reading so I'd be awake when it was time to go pick up LunaCorn at 3:30am to get to the bus station on time. She called a little before 3am and I'm glad I was awake to pick up! I think I surprised her! Juan's alarm went off a while later but I went to wake him up too, and we got the borrowed fryer packed up again to take back to his parents' house when we picked LunaCorn up. We ended up picking her up but NOT dropping the fryer off, so we ended up with the big box in the back seat too. We got to the bus stop about 15-20 minutes early and tried to figure out, through the pouring rain, where the non-employee parking WAS. Two people were trying to sit and sleep on the luggage pallets outside the station and the door was locked, so we went back to wait in the car and moved the car to be near the other cars so we wouldn't get hit by the bus. Eventually it was past time for the bus and a man had come out of the station and gone back in, and we thought it was still locked up but a woman parked next to us and she was able to walk in the unlocked door so we moved INSIDE to wait. LunaCorn was impatient and nervous. ~-^ I took pictures!! ^-^ Then the bus showed up about 35-40 minutes late, at 4:30am and there he was!!! Yay! They hugged and we shook hands and LunaCorn helped him with his luggage to the car, where we discovered Juan had forgotten he still had the two ice chests from work that he'd borrowed for the party Saturday, and boxes he had brought home for me to pack! The trunk was FULL!! Oooops!!! O-o So he threw out the empty boxes (bye bye boxes!) into the dumpster nearby, and the luggage fit. Whew! We got home to our place and LunaCorn came up with us to visit for a while as he settled in, but finally Juan realized he HAD to take her home before he was no longer safe to be driving! I got Yusuke set up on the couch to sleep, and I was crashing so got ready for bed while Juan was still gone, but I was JUST awake enough to smile and kiss him goodnight when he came to bed around 7am. ^-^

I probably should be napping right now, before LunaCorn and Yusuke come back from her work, but I don't think I'd wake up to let them IN if I fell asleep now! :-P I made us spaghetti with ground turkey, and even though I put carrots in it and Yusuke doesn't generally LIKE vegetables, he tried it and ate it and didn't pick out the carrots, so I was happy! ^-^ I didn't get enough pasta to go with the sauce I made though so Juan will pick up more on the way home tonight, along with some more diet vanilla pepsi! ....I'm not really addicted... I can quit any time I want to... as long as it's right after I've had one... right... that's it.... I'll quit for a few hours at a time... obtainable goals... that's the key... yeah.

Monkeyboy is in town so he's supposed to come over tonight and I hope we have fun, and Yusuke will get to meet him. ^-^ I just hope I have enough energy! I may sleep late or nap a lot tomorrow before Juan gets off work early for his birthday. I asked him on the phone when he called from work if he felt any older yet or not. Sometimes when I'm turning a year older I don't feel the emotional impact of it till the actual DAY, and sometimes I don't really feel different for a few months, while I get used to remembering my new age. :-P He said that 32 seemed like it was good for him, that 31 seemed rough for some reason. I'm glad he feels that things are getting better and going to be better. We're both anxious and excited about the upcoming move. We checked our total savings last week and we're only a few hundred dollars away from our target goal, and we should be able to get the two collapsable cat carriers we need in a week or two when the bills fall so we have more than grocery money for the week.

I've been having fun taking TONS of pictures of LunaCorn and Yusuke... I wish I'd had my camera ready when I came around the corner from the bathroom and caught them KISSING though!! LunaCorn was SO embarrassed!!! She hid her face in the blanket and just giggled and blushed till it was out of her system! ^-^ I apparantly was TOO QUIET again and they didn't hear me coming! So I teased them next time and said I'd stomp and make noise when I was coming back down the hall... and when I did I actually just called out "Ready or not, here I come!" like in hide and seek. I may have to tease her about this one for a while.... ~-^

Mere hours from now, LunaCorn's boyfriend, Yusuke, will be arriving here on the bus at about 4am in the morning! O-o We did the grocery shopping for the week and I made extra sure to have some snacks and stuff handy so if I'm knocked out asleep there'll be SOMETHING for the poor guy to EAT around here tomorrow! :-P I've got three different pasta dishes planned, since he doesn't really eat veggies, and poor Juan says he's liable to be sick of pasta by the end of the week, haha. Juan's had a hard time eating lately as I've been changing my diet again to include tons of carbs, and he'd gotten to like the mostly proteins and veggies of my old diet. We DID get grapes though, he just JUMPED on that idea when I asked him at the supermarket if it would be OK to splurge for them! ^-^

We ran into Ken while we were shopping with LunaCorn and the four of us actually talked for a little while. I was VERY surprised he'd managed to finally clean out the middle room in his house that had been FILLED so you couldn't really open to door or get IN the room, and it had been that way since he was a child. O-o They also finally boarded up the hole in the bathroom floor since a possum had started coming in through the floor to drink out of the toilet! @-@ I say it's about TIME they did something about that hole, with their baby walking around 3 years old, it should be made SAFE to toilet train him!!

It wasn't till we got home from all the shopping that Juan and I remembered we'd forgotten to get the new windshield wiper blade we DESPERATELY needed, as the old one broke and popped out so the metal was scraping INTO the glass and has made a pretty noticable scratch in it! O-o Not to mention the SOUND was unbearable! We'd also forgotten the drain cleaner to clear up the bathtub drain that's been draining so slowly I've ended up with shampoo suds around my ankles by the end of the shower, and the water was standing in the tub draining for most of an hour afterwards. Not good. SO... we went to dinner at Jack in the Box (same place we met LunaCorn for breakfast/lunch before shopping! :-P ) for our last quiet little dinner together before this next couple of weeks keeps us busy with our houseguest. ^-^ I think we're all excited or nervous about this, here's hoping we don't ALL go insane!

After we ate we picked up the wipers and drain cleaner and I saw they had the orange t-shirt Juan had been wanting so we got that too, it's his Birthday week after all. ^-^ Then we went by Blockbuster's since Juan got a card that had a rental deal on it and he wanted to see if it covered rental of games too, or just movies. It turned out to only work for movie rental, but we looked around to see what games they had for rent anyway. There was a Batman game that looked like it might work like a Gauntlet style game so we might be able to play it together, which would be fun. I also found a game called Vexx that looked interesting to me, I'm thinking it might be kind of like the Zelda games but it had different worlds to visit and you could go out of order, so I'm thinking it's not like what I'm having trouble with in the Zelda game where I'm STUCK and can't do anything more in the game because I can't get past this one monster, and I can't leave the island I'm on to do anything else either. O-o I saw a game they had for sale, Equinox something, that looked like it might be a Final Fantasy type of game I could play, so I want to look that up and see if I can find out more about that.

When we got out of the store it was raining so we had to make a run for the car. We got home and put things up and went right back out to install the new blades in the wipers since it had stopped raining by then. ^-^ I held the flashlight while he dealt with the blades, and then Juan called his mom to find out if the inner cooking area in the fryer could be removed to be cleaned, but she said no. He disposed of the oil in the dumpster, I wished we'd had a container to throw it away in, but I was glad it wasn't going down the sink!!! I peeled and wrapped about 7-8 bananas to freeze in the freezer since we had them left over from the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich making at the party Saturday.

I cleaned out and tried to reorganize the pantry earlier today, so the top shelf is snacks, the next shelf in canned goods, dry goods etc. basically the ingredients for the menu this week. ^-^ Then after that, the third shelf down is mostly bottles and stored stuff, and the bottom is stored stuff and cleaners and things like that. The bottom two shelves are really still a mess but I know what's in there.... ~-^ Juan and I packed up most of our bedding and stuff like that yesterday, so now I'm not sure where to look for a pillowcase for the extra pillow we've got out for Yusuke to use on the couch. :-P We did our work too well, nyahahahaaaaa....

I tried to get all caught up on the forums and places I hang out on the web, I'm not sure how often I'll get to visit them in this next couple of weeks so I wanted to make sure I'm not gone TOO long. I was disappointed no one seemed to have noticed the pictures of the Cynosure party when I posted them there. :-( It was a pretty good party though. ^-^

Monday, June 21, 2004

This morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom while Juan was getting ready for work I slipped in a puddle I THOUGHT was from Juan's dripping all over the floor from his shower. I went back to bed and when I woke up for the day I stepped in it AGAIN... but THIS time I had the lights on and could see that it was BRIGHT YELLOW! EEEEEEEWWWWW! :-( It looks like one of the kitties decided to pee in front of the toilet instead of in the litter box, but I don't know why! I didn't have my contacts in yet so I dropped a paper towel on the piddle puddle so I could clean it up after washing my face and putting in my contacts. I hate not being able to see at times like that. :-P I mopped it up and then disinfected the spot. The litterbox didn't need to be cleaned out so I'll try to keep an eye on the cats today and see if any of them seem to be having troubles. I hope Ember doesn't have a urinary tract infection again, she seems to be vulnerable to them. :-(

Yesterday we went to see my parents for Father's Day and we had a pretty long visit there. Most of it was good except for a couple of things, like my dad kept gesturing while talking and swinging his arms and hands near my face and head, and he wouldn't stop even when I was leaned over out of my chair to get out of his way. And when he hugged me he kept feeling around on my back to see if I felt like I wasn't as fat. :-( They gave me more goji juice, (from the Himalayas! ^-^) and it seems they want to try to keep me supplied with it, convinced it will fix everything imaginable that's wrong with me. Since it does taste good, I'll take it! :-P

The party Saturday night went well I think, we managed to fry the pickles in the borrowed deep fryer without disasterous incident, so that's good! Buttercup and Kisty and I were in the kitchen messing with the pickles and batter most of the early part of the evening, and after we'd fried all the pickles we joined Juan and Nighthawk and Buttercup's husband in the living room and we all played Trivial Pursuit, which I'm TERRIBLE at! I'm bad at geography, names, and dates... and didn't exactly have the television exposure or traditional public schooling's history, political science, or social studies to draw from. When I was homeschooled we studied ancient history, mythology, etc., not the "current events" of the 70s and 80s. The ONLY question that was asked during the ENTIRE game that I KNEW the answer to was one about the Indiana Jones movies. And it was a question for the other team! :-P After the game, I'm not sure if I should try to watch the national news and learn all these popular culture and political NAMES of all these people I'm clueless about, or if I just want to dig deeper into my little caves and ignore the world at large out of self defense. Politics and culture aren't real anyway. :-P I'll probably get over it and play the stupid game again someday, but right now I'd like to burn the whole thing. Good thing it wasn't my game. :-P

After the game, Buttercup and her hubby had to go, but Craig showed up in time to meet them before they had to leave, yay! ^-^ And he brought spinach dip from Cheddars with him, whoohoo! ^-^ We watched Juan's birthday dvd of Bubba Ho-Tep and only had to pause it a few times for the trains to go by. After the movie we hung out a little and then Nighthawk had to go, and then Juan had to give Kisty a ride home, and LunaCorn and Craig and I got to talk a while before it was time for Craig to go home too. LunaCorn spent the night and had to get up to sing at church in the morning.

I spent a while this morning doing my Neopets rounds and actually played games with my neopet who was depressed. Now that they've changed the looks of the koi I think I might want one of those, but I'm not sure. :-P I picked out another book in my collection to read, but I think I need to pack up more stuff getting ready for our move. I'm having the creative impulses to work on my dolls projects again, look up my old MoonDolls site stuff and make a webpage for it again, maybe at ivillage this time, since all the other free sites places where I tried to host it kept going down or closing or wouldn't work. I'm also wanting to get back into my Animal Crossing game since it's been waaay too long since I played it and visiting someone's Animal Crossing fan site reminded me I missed it. ^-^ Then again, Final Fantasy is calling me again too.... ~-^

I can't believe I'm still awake! @-@ I've been up nearly 24 hours now, and I'm SOOOOO tired but I can't sleep yet! I ate breakfast already so maybe the food will all hit me and knock me out soon. I found a Monk marathon is on USA network so I hope I wake up tonight in time to see the season premire! :-P

Oh I'm so glad blogger is working again, I thought I broke it with all those quizzes! :-P OK, not really, but it happened to give me errors and not let me post after all that!

In the meantime, I've been busy... I meant to catch up on what's been happening OTHER than quiz maaadness. I woke up with a pain explosion, so that wasn't a nice way to start the day. That's part of why I was taking all those quizzes, to cheer up! After hours of that, Juan got home from work early and we went to his parents house to surprise LunaCorn and be there when she got home from being a counselor at band camp to see her MOVED and CLEANED and ORGANIZED room! ^-^ We waited outside the house since Juan's dad wasn't home like Juan had thought he would be. As it got pretty dark, after I pet the tailless siamese cat Jolinito (I think that's the spelling anyway!) for about twenty minutes, which he LOVED... we decided to go by the restaraunt and call Lunacorn to see where she was on her way home. We found Juan's dad THERE! So we called and she was stuck checking the kids OUT of band camp. We went back to Juan's parents' house and met them there as they came home from the restaraunt... and then we waited some more. It was past 10pm when she finally made it home! I waited till she had sat and talked a while, with her bags on the kitchen floor, before being pathetically obvious and asking her WHICH room was she going to put her bags and stuff away in. ~-^ SO she RAN to see her room and she LIKED it! Yay!! ^-^ I was SO glad she liked it! Even though the internet isn't hooked up yet, waaaaaaaaaaaah! After that Juan and I visited a while longer and then we headed out to pick up something to EAT for DINNER on the way to Wal-Mart to pick up the groceries we need for the party Saturday night. We went to Jack in the Box and I ordered the deli trio pannido but it wasn't till we'd left that I discovered they'd given me the WRONG pannido! So I got to try the turkey ham with dried tomato mayonaise sauce and I didn't like that nearly as well. :-( We ran through the shopping and I didn't realize till a couple of hours ago that we forgot the ranch dressing for dipping the deep fried battered pickles. We're going to try the test run on those tonight. I hope we can work this fryer we borrowed without mishap!

Once we were home I fell back into this interactive hypno-gourd I love so much, and I've been on the computer ALL NIGHT LONG! I went back to a doll forum and actually joined it, and spent a few hours reading and posting and getting to meet a couple of people, and then I went insane and joined in on one of the challenges they had, to make a doll of your zodiac sign! I drew her using my new stylus but I couldn't catch on to the shading using that so switched to the mouse when I got to that stage. I think she turned out ok considering I just started learning to use the stylus and how out of practice I am at making gifs, I forgot to clean it up around the edges and the first version had all those white bits everywhere around it! :-P

I still don't really like how the eyes and eyebrows turned out, but they were getting worse as I fiddled with them instead of getting better. I think they look a bit cross-eyed. O-o

You represent... naivete.
You represent... naivete.
So innocent and trusting... you can be very shy at
times, but it's only because you're not sure
how to act. You give off that "I need to
be protected vibe." Remember that not all
people are good. Being too trusting will get
you easily hurt.

Fair enough. Perhaps they haven't. But now that you know, you must become one with your inner self.

Virtues: You look for immense creativity and individuality in people, including yourself. You're not happy with anything less than brilliant, and you focus on being expressive. You value energy, liveliness, and upbeat personalities, but you're not supportive of moodiness when you yourself can be unreliably moody. Seeking activity, you like the bustle of business but need the secluded atmosphere of a studio or private corner.

Aspirations: You feel the need to express your talents, whether it be through writing, drawing, singing, dancing, composing, performing, or photographing. While you strive to ever improve your work, you want to display it as soon as possible when your impatience kicks in. You want to be a prodigy but you might not have the means right at your fingertips. Trust me, do NOT move to New York to do it. Yeesh!

Quirks: Conformists bother you because of their lack of individuality. You're often late or unreliable. You're showy and refuse to share the spotlight. You only tell little white lies. You worm your way into the hearts of others, but be careful; some people despise the show-offs.

Factors: Surround yourself with activity and you'll always have material to work with. Involve friends and family in your projects so they don't feel like envious outsiders.

Future: Show business or not, you'll settle down happily if you're among those who appreciate your natural talents and desire to perform. Don't stay in one place too long, and don't be too hasty in defining your relationships. Who are you to judge what only time will tell?

you are turquoise
#40E0D0

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is higher than average - You know what you want, but sometimes know not to tell everyone. You value accomplishments and know you can get the job done, so don't be afraid to run out and make things happen.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

Wow, I finally found out what was hiding in the bench! O-o I found our stash of colored tissue papers for gift bags, after all the times we've gone rushing to the dollar store to get some because we didn't know we already HAD some! :-P I also found and threw out about two wal-mart bags worth of junk, old mail, recipts from shopping for our wedding, old phone numbers, old computer stuff that's now obsolete. I even found a computer game we've been looking for since before we moved here! And I found FIVE DOLLARS! Whoo-hooo! I packed up almost all of the CDs we had in the computer desk, though I've left all the current game cds, and about 1/2 dozen of the others didn't fit in the one box I've packed so far. I figure it should be ok to put them in with the CDs from the entertainment center. I sorted and tossed stuff in the bathroom too, I cleaned out the little baskets by the tub, and cleared out a lot of junk and expired stuff from the bathroom drawers, so the bathroom trash can is overflowing now too. I have a small bag of stuff to go to goodwill, and I should probably start putting that in a box so it's all in the same place.

The cats were all VERY interested in the bench being open while I was cleaning it out, Cutter kept jumping in to help me! I had to keep tossing him out, of course! He also tried to get into the box of CDs right when I was closing it up and labeling it! :-P I didn't box up anything from the bench yet, as I realized the folders and photo albums wouldn't fit well in any of the boxes we have, so we'll have to get a different size box, hopefully we'll only need a couple of odd sized boxes like that so the packing works out well. Maybe I'll measure our Atlas and try to get a box about that size. ^-^

I finished reading the Redwall novel, Marlfox, and I think I might just check out the other books in the series from the library, and not buy them. I like the descriptive writing style but the accents are too much for me I think, I get garbled and confused as to which character is speaking, and what they're saying, and that slows down my reading too much for me to enjoy the ride. I'm looking through my books trying to decide whether I want to read one I haven't read yet, or re-read some more of my favorites. I'm still working on the list of books we have, and trying to get all the books by the same author in the same place somehow.

I need to pull out stuff from the storage closet to get to the stuff in the back and sort out my old glassware and old winter clothes to give away a lot of it I'll never really use again. I don't want to move stuff we don't need or use or love! I'm wanting to pack up mostly the hall and bedroom closet stuff today I think, I might pack up some of the decorations too. And I'm thinking of emptying out the bench and sorting through that, I'm not even sure what all we've got in there at this point! The cds and vhs tapes look like good things to pack up first too, but I might be getting ahead of my supply of boxes here. :-P

Whoooo! Today was a long, exciting, exhausting, did I mention EXCITING and EXHAUSTING day! :-P We stayed up late last night watching movies, and then today we went to eat at Las Comadres, Juan's mother's restaraunt, and then we went shopping at Wal-Mart and picked up the hair dye Juan's mother wanted to try. I got the ingredients to make crawfish enchiladas and hot dogs for meals later this week, and I bought two new shirts with my saved up money. ^-^ One is "Autumn red" and the other is "blue heather." Since I haven't been able to find my dark maroon shirt for a couple of months now, it'll be nice to have a red dressy t-shirt again. Then we got home and unloaded the car, both from shopping AND the boxes I had Juan pick up from work so I can start packing things we don't use all the time. We set our plans and hope to move sometime the end of this Summer, so I want to get as much packed and ready ahead of time as possible, without feeling like I'm living in a storage unit!

We worked on the computers a little and then went to meet Juan's mother at home, and I got to dye her hair for her! ^-^ I also worked a lot on LunaCorn's rooms, moving stuff out of the old one and into the new one. I hope she likes the surprise when she comes home from band camp!! O-o I heard she's going INSANE with 300+ Junior High students she's supposed to supervise! @-@ I put her books into her new bookshelves, moved her old shelves too, and scooted her entertainment center over about 4-5 inches so her chair could nestle between it and her dresser. Juan moved her other dresser near the foot of her bed where she had told me she thought she wanted it, and then her father surprised us and wanted to move the computer desk and computer over while we were at it! They don't have the internet connection there in her room yet but Juan called the cable company and we're hoping like mad they can send out someone to get that done before LunaCorn comes home Thursday! ^-^ Moving her desk and computer was exciting, I had them put the computer and all the cables in her computer chair, and when we were ready for them we just wheeled the whole chair into her new room. The desk was a problem though, we had to take it apart into two pieces because it wouldn't fit through the door!! O-o We got lucky and it was joined together with the same cam bolts as some of our furniture we have at home that we assembled ourselves so we realized how to take it apart! ^-^ We had fun getting all the wires put back where they belonged, I had to make a few suggestions when Juan couldn't figure where they went.... ~-^ Color coding is a wonderful thing... he just wasn't thinking to look in the right places!! :-P Speaking of which, I hope LunaCorn can find her beta fish now, because I had to move him OFF the computer desk when we dealt with all that, and he's still sitting on top of her entertainment center, surrounded by angels, probably wondering WHAT HAPPENED?!

Juan was still full from eating the lunch buffet, but I was hungry since I'd just had two enchiladas, so Juan picked up a couple of burgers and fries for me and his mom. Juan watched the Lakers game with his dad, and I got to talk some with his mom, with my limited Spanish. It was nice. ^-^ I think I should have been running to refill my water glass more often than I did though because I think I ended up slightly dehydrated, with it being generally warmer at their house, and me being SO much more ACTIVE carrying and moving stuff. I'm sore now so I'll probably be sore tomorrow! :-P I hope it was worth it and LunaCorn likes it. I took a few pictures so I'll be able to remember how nice it was before she gets home and unpacks from camp, which of course is widely KNOWN to destroy a clean room in seconds flat! ~-^

At some point Juan's mother brought out his old graduation gown, hat, and tassle, and he tried them on and she's giving them to him for keepsakes, and I took pictures of him wearing the now short robe and too small cap!! ^-^ She also gave me some iron on applique kits, and we remembered to put our therapy massager with our pile of stuff to take home with us. We'd forgotten it the last two times we MEANT to take it home! I've also managed to forget to BRING the curtain rods I want to give LunaCorn. We managed to remember we're trying to borrow the deep fryer from his mom, and at the end of the night we went out to their little storehouse in the garden and Juan got it down from the shelves. Now I have to remember we need to get OIL to use it! I'm not USED to deep frying anything!

When we headed home we were both hungry again, so we stopped at Taco Bell on the way home and picked up supper. The lines for the drive through were HUGE and wrapped all the way around the building, so we went inside so we could sit in the air conditioning to wait for our order instead of sitting in the car with the a/c not working. It seemed like all the teens in the area were there, trying to get a bite to eat before curfew. When we got home the kitties DEMANDED to be fed, as we were OVER TWO HOURS past their feeding time! O-o Now that we're all fed it looks like we'll watch a movie before bed. I hope to get started packing boxes tomorrow but I might be a little too sore, so we'll see.

    Saturday, June 12, 2004

Yesterday LunaCorn and I ran amok, out on the town all afternoon! Wheee! ~-^ She picked me up around 3pm and we went out to look at the apartments we're checking out for Yusuke to possibly move into if he decides to stay here when he comes to visit. ^-^ The first place we actually got to go into and look around we ended up spending WAY too much time on, but it was so NICE there! If we weren't wanting to save up and move out of town, I'd want to see if we could move there! :-P They had a pool, and allow cats that are spayed/neutered and declawed, with the same non-refundable (of course!) pet deposit that we paid for our current apartment. And they were much better on the general maintenance and upkeep of the place too. A police officer lives in the complex, and the landlady/manager we visited with lives there too.

After we spent most of our time there, we went to the next complex on our list to check things out but when LunaCorn called the office they were about to close for the day, so, since we were STARRRVING, (not unlike starrrving kitties!) we decided to go eat. Juan let me drop by the store earlier to pick up some money for lunch, so we tried to figure out where we wanted to go, and we ended up with LunaCorn trying to head toward Cheddars, but turned around the wrong direction for that... so then we started trying to get to the new Chinese/Japanese buffet Juan and I went to for our anniversary, since they had SUSHI on the buffet... but when we got all turned around on the way THERE and started to pass Quiznos... that was it... we went there instead. :-P

After lunch we stopped by the bird store down the sidewalk and I showed her the windchimes I'd been wanting to show her there ever since the store opened and Juan and I had gone in. They had lots of pretty little trinkets so we browsed a ton. :-P Then we headed back to LunaCorn's house and I helped with the housecleaning, and even got some work done in her OLD room where the ROOF has fallen in and all her books were all over the floor since she really REALLY needs more bookshelves but only has one. I had fun making her bed in her NEW room, I did it up sort of like you'd see in a hotel or the home and garden type magazines, with the cover turned down, and the pillows propped up with her teddy bear in the center, and her extra blanket folded at the foot of the bed like a duvet. ^-^ I want to find the bookshelves I took down from the living room and bring them over for her new room so she'll have a PLACE to put her books!

Juan's father was grilling all evening while we were cleaning, so we didn't get to clean the kitchen with him working back and forth there and outside at the grill. So when Juan came after work to pick me up we got to eat dinner there! Steak tacos! And shish-kebabs! Ooooohh.... it was gooooood.... ^-^

Today I'm a tiny bit sore from all the extra activity I'm not used to yesterday, but it's a good kind of sore, so I'm happy I got some exercise. I've started watching a couple of anime series, Catseye, and Avenger, and I'm almost finished with the Redwall book I've been reading, the only one I have from that series, but I finally thought I'd pick one up and see how it was. It's "Marlfox" and I love some of the writing, the descriptions, but the accents of all the various animals are kind of bothersome to me. Though I did like the scottish accent of one of the birds... :-P

I started playing Makin' Magic again yesterday, after quite a while of not playing it since I was always working on other projects on the computer so I didn't want to shut them all down to play. I'm trying to play this one family long enough for the beanstalk in their yard to grow big so I can have them try to climb it. ^-^ Playing it again gives me the urge to make more re-colors of the clothes so my sims can have more variety of outfits, but then again I feel I should be doing clothes for the Sims 2 instead now.

I DO have the Star Trek Next Generation shirts my mother and I originally made for my brother, but he outgrew them so I inherited them... and actually wore them to class in college as if they were regular clothes...
