Let's see, LOTS of adventures. ^-^ Kisty finally had just TOO much of dealing with her terrible roomate and when she came over on the bus today she realized on the way over that she just HAS to move out. So we called Celleigh and she got here right when Outland got home from work and I had made pasta and ground turkey meat sauce so those of us who hadn't eaten yet ate dinner before we went back to Kisty's place to get her stuff. We were most concerned about getting her computer and valuables so her roomate wouldn't do anything rash and destroy, steal, or sell them. He was my friend a LONG time ago but I'm realizing and coming to terms with the fact that he hasn't been BEING my friend for years now and just uses everyone around him. I got the dishes that weren't his that he's had since 1996. We were worried he might throw a fit about her moving out immediately, since it's because of him not paying the bills and he's losing her paying over half the expenses. I'm not sure he understands where this leaves him. He just did little petty fits that weren't too big though. We were concerned to the point we made sure we had Celleigh's cell phone to call the police if we had to. We packed up her stuff in the hot stuffy darkness because he hadn't paid the electric bill. I forgot to bring our flashlight so we only had Celleigh's. It was a relief to get this finally happening, and a relief that we didn't have to fight with him really. Yet. We have to go back in daylight sometime soon and sort through bags of clothes to get the rest of her clothes, and some boxes of her stuff that's under a bunch of other packed boxes from when they were going to move but didn't. I really hope we get all her stuff and she can get her own place and never have to deal with her old roomate again. He threw a little fit when she took her library books and he said it was "petty" of her not to trust him to return her library books on time. When I was in the kitchen getting the dishes he came in and tried to make a big deal about lighting a candle for me to see. It just struck me as completely absurd for him to act like lighting a candle at this point will somehow make things OK between us. I said no thanks, I can see ok from the light from outside, and he threw another of his little fits "OK fine then, don't say I didn't try to be nice and do anything for you!"

Was sick. Had nightmare. There was this guy with a scythe and I was up in an upper story room with him and I wouldn't drop the scythe blade out the window on people to hurt them, he cut his face with it and died, I cried and he came back and I was happy, then he yelled and fought with me, something about me having breasts... I seemed to be naked at this point and had been hugging his dead body when I cried and called him a child... so I stabbed myself in the chest with the scythe and suddenly floated up and was burning with light and it hurt a lot and I think I was dying. At some point earlier I said something to the guy when he was trying to cut me but the scythe was breaking out of the handle, something about there being a jump in time and I had already died once for him. I got up because I couldn't sleep after that. Hung out on amz and in #fantasy and #aftermathzone which was interesting because I had to have mIRC open twice to be on the different servers. I checked GOM posts and ate cereal in chocolate milk. I'm not all here though, so I'm going back to bed I think.

Oh yeah, MORE news I forgot somehow!! We got a new computer chair!!!! Yippee!!!! Now hopefully my back won't hurt like it has been!!!! Both of the old ones are little cheap office chairs that kind of broke... but the new one has a HIGH back and you can lean back in it and it has arms!! We went to Office Max after dinner and sat in ALL the chairs there, and this one was the first one I sat in, and I ended up testing all the chairs again and I liked this one BEST and it didn't have a price tag.... Other were priced $99-$299. Outland asked a sales clerk and she said, oh, that one is on sale this week only for $59!!! So I rummaged and found my stashed away money in my purse and we bought it for about $65 total and the regular price was $130!!!!! Yippeeeee!!!!!!!
Also I meant to mention that Celleigh called and left a message asking me what the One Ring from Lord of the Rings said, so I called and left a message on HER maching that was ONLY me saying what the ring said!!! I did it all dramatic and had fun. :-) Kind of like leaving a prank call only she ASKED me to!
I need to get together with Celleigh to blog the chronicles of my sis-in-law's birthday party... I apparantly had my first blank out from drinking... uh oh....
I spent tonight hanging at AMZ and ended up going into #aftermath using mIRC since I couldn't follow or copy a link in the java version they have in chat. I bookmarked some php tutorials to go back to later. http://www.php.net/ and http://www.evilwalrus.com/

Today was chock stock FULL of adventures. Actually, so was yesterday, so let me start there. Yesterday I woke up late not feeling well and I heard Kisty's voice on the answering machine. It discovered it was around 5pm already and I staggered to the phone and called her back while listening to her messages, which is where I discovered that they just got their electricity shut off because her roommate didn't pay the electric bill. Long story short, we have all been having a lot of trouble with this guy and it's really upsetting me because I've known him since I was 15. They agreed that Kisty will pay the rent, and he will pay the bills, so he ends up paying over 100 less than she pays for the expenses. Now he's trying to blame the electricity getting cut off on her. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Anyway I called Kisty back and he picked up and when I said "hello, is Kisty there" (more or less) he held out the phone and called her to it and yelled about how I didn't even say hello to HIM or ask how HE was doing or want to talk to HIM. And he wonders why I don't want to talk to him.... I was just calling HER back because SHE was the one who called me!!
Kisty took the bus to come visit me and she brought the frozen meat from their fridge so it won't spoil with no electricity for the 2 weeks till her roommate gets paid. She also took her cd burner out of her computer and brought it over in case it would help us working on getting mine to work. We did a TON of stuff the the poor computer trying to fix how the computer store techs had installed the burner wrong.... At some point WE did something wrong and when we tried to start up the computer couldn't find an os!!!!!!!!!! I kind of freaked out a bit at that point... but we got it working and nothing was wiped!!!! ^-^ We did the defrost leftovers from the freezer thing instead of cooking anything this visit since I wasn't up to it. We were still working on the computer when Outland got home... and after a while he asked if Kisty minded staying the night since he was getting too tired to take her home. We finally got the burner to burn a music cd so the new cd can be played on the cd player, but we can't get the software to burn data to work, which is what I need to be able to do to save all my graphics and writing so we can reinstall our os. So Outland went to bed and I tucked him in and Kisty and I stayed up and talked a lot and started watching Kull on video but I had to crash and sleep before it was over.
This morning Outland already got up before me and did the laundry and he brought back chinese food for me and Kisty since he already ate. Then we took all the papers about applying to see if we qualify for help getting a house and we went to the office (after we got the money order at one of the stores Outland works at) and it went well I thought and they will have us back Monday to go over our Credit Report. Ouch. I hope it's better than I think it is. Kisty picked up some papers too so that's good. I'm hoping she can move out on her own and leave the bad roommate. We went driving around to see the new houses being built in the area where we would be getting the house if we qualify and it looked pretty nice. Lots of signs of families living in the area (i.e. toys in the driveways and lawns!) and even the worn down older houses looked like the people were trying to fix them up and take care of them. The new houses are brick and have a garage! And most of them had pretty front window areas that were really big with a variety of ways they were done. We liked one style where it came out like this: \__/ where the windows were. We took a little detour and saw how the river park has been fixed up and looked into the cemetary where they had nice statues and stuff up. I hadn't been in that area of town much before, it was nice with big oaks and wisteria in bloom climbing everywhere, both purple and white. After that we got the dishes I had been looking for and found at the dollar store. The plan is to pack up my old dishes and use the new ones now. ^-^ I have a lot of dishwashing to do first.... Then since we were kind of celebrating we went to Souper Salad, and afterwards in the parking lot we saw some stars coming out, and the moon was gorgeous, and I found Venus, and Kisty found Mars. We came home for Outland to rest for a bit before we did anything else, and we pretty much just unwound watching music videos while Kisty emailed her friends to let them know her electricity is out. We drove Kisty home and then Outland was crashing but he checked email and I don't know WHY but he ended up reading to me from THIS website reviewing the Oscars. He sat there and clicked through all the dresses and fashion stuff. I KNEW he was tired.... He kept asking "why am I still up? why am I doing this?"... we may never know....

Yesterday I wasn't feeling well most of the day but I got better by evening and was able to go to my sis-in-law's Birthday party, she turned 20. Just one more year to go till we can take her out to the pool hall! Whooohooo!! Celleigh showed up last night before Outland was off from work, so she came to the party too and she gave me a ride so Outland could just meet us there and not have to drive home to get me. It was a great party, Outland was surprised because I actually did shots, in a double shotglass too. One girl got very upset with her boyfriend and was crying and trying to leave while she was drunk and I still don't know her name but I got in the car with her to stop her from leaving. Outland wandered off and fell asleep in the back of his dad's truck, I wandered around worried about where he was, and his parents found both of us and put us to bed in their bed. I got up at some point and couldn't figure out where my shoes were and I went back outside in the carport and started crying and telling Outland's mother what a wonderful mother she is... in both English and my very bad Spanish.... I went back to bed after much crying and babbling with his mother and sister and brother and Celleigh, even some poor guy I don't know who everyone had been picking on all night came up to tell me it would be ok. I went back to bed with Outland and woke up realizing I had my contacts in all night and everything was milky and blurry from my eye gunk and fatigue.
We had some juice and mostly water for me before we headed home. The juice made us both get sick and start throwing up when we got home. We napped a lot before starting our day. ^-^ We were going to search the storage closet for our tax papers from last year to see if we can qualify for help buying a home but instead we found out we can file papers asking the irs for copies and at this rate that should be faster than searching through everything. If we get a home it will be WONDERFUL!!! I am trying not to get so worked up that I'll be completely crushed if we can't get one though. We might need to move fairly soon anyway as it seems the neighbors have turned their apartment into a giant bong and my only problem with that is it is seeping through the kitchen wall and making me sick as I'm allergic. Sigh.
Ooooh yeah, last night Celleigh showed me the "ghost people" in my neighbor's apartment, she told me to stand in the driveway gravel and look up and I knew what she was showing me and I STILL eeeped and startled. They have a black and white poster of the Cure all lined up and staring out the window like ghosts with the dim light they have in there. Really spooky even though I knew it wasn't real people. The first time they scared Celleigh she thought it was actual people all peeking out the window at her!
We got to go see Blade II tonight and it was good. They did some new things with the way they used the effects and cinematography and I liked it. It even had character development. ^-^ We always try to go see and support comic book based movies. We read in the credits that an actual comic artist we know was consulted, and no real Reapers were harmed during the making of the movie. Both of which made me happy.

I was hanging out at AftermathZone today and someone posted a pic of a full grown dog they are getting to adopt from an animal shelter. They sent me to PAWS and I had to go look. They have an artist who does animal portraits and my favorites were "wants in and wants out" and "maybe just one bite" or something along the lines of those titles, I closed the window to get here and blog it right away. ^-^
I have so much I wanted to catch up on blogging but I think I'll just say, I had TONS of weird dreams, lots with driving but not feeling in control, clothes that were too short, trying to close doors again, and my grandmother who died kept showing up in lots of them. I was sick all day yesterday and slept most of the day away, I got in too much smoke the night before while conspiring with my friends kisty and celleigh at the local all night diner. I am a Smoke magnet as well as a weirdness magnet. Outland brought me dinner in bed, it was a sub from Quiznos, he knows I love them. Had Severe headache most of the day and then a pain explosion that evening and I couldn't take the pain pills again yet so that was bad. Pain again last night when I was up in the middle of the night on irc, and still pain again today. Ugh. I'm trying to get well enough to go to my sis-in-law's birthday party tonight when Outland gets off work at 9pm... I will have missed most of it. Sigh. She will be 20... only ONE more year to go and we can take her out to the pool hall with us!! Yippie!!! I've only been waiting for that for 5 years now.....
Oooh museum replicas site... someone posted a sword and I'm not sure what it was a replica of... heh. Oh wait, I found it, it was Sting, Bilbo's sword he gave to his nephew Frodo to continue the adventures. Pretty isn't it....

My kitties have ben BAAAD today! They just trashed the place! They started wrestling on the coffee table and knocked off all the tax papers and Outland's sketches he did on painting ideas, and I was just in the kitchen and discovered they had knocked the toaster oven up on the kitchen counter AWAY from the wall! Glad it didn't fall off the counter! This morning when I got up I found Cutter lounging up on the top of the computer desk hutch where he is NOT allowed!! And to top it all off they just knocked over the trash and have strewn it all over the hallway. One of them keeps attacking the ball of MY hair I cleaned out of my brush. Ick!!!

Trouble Cats for Today!

I'm now having fun watching the burned cds of Buffy episodes Kisty brought over the other day. Watching "tv" on my computer monitor will take some getting used to. ^-^ This makes me wonder if someone out there has episodes of Probe out there... I love that show for some strange reason.... That and Due South I think are my favorite tv shows. But Due South seems to be top. Watching it always cheers me up or something, I can't explain it, it's like a sort of emotional refresher at some deep level. Maybe it's all the Sarah McLaughlin music in the soundtrack too. ^-^

Tons of weird dreaming last night. Everything was so run together and merging I'm not sure I can even really say I had a bunch of separate dreams or just one long convoluted one. Knowing me and how I babble though, I think it was one loooong one.
I dreamed Outland and I were going to his friend's house where some guys, who we don't really know in real life, were moving out of a big house they had been sharing as roomates and they were having a kind of fight with their landlord when we got there, something about they damaged the frame and wall around a door, and the guys were upset and arguing that the door was supposed to have been a standard size door so what they moved should have fit through with no damage and the housing was faulty. Someone else was complaining about his sterio got broken, so Outland went to this big truck parked in the driveway and turned on the radio in the truck for music, since apparantly no one had thought of that. Suddenly the house had been torn down to just the wooden framework and there was grass coming up from between the floor boards, and they were grey from weather and sun exposure, and the house had apparantly been like that for a long while. The floorboards were all slanting one way or another like a patterned deck. I was having fun walking around on it seeing the grass peeking up through it.
Then somehow there was a group of people playing some kind of sport inside a fenced area, and one of the girls in the group or with the group wanted to get publicity for then group so she climbed up on the fence, sort of a chain link with the orange-brown plastic ribbons threaded in it for privacy, and she flashed her chest and used a camera to take a picture of herself doing it to make it look like crazed fans were trying to get to the game. There were people running around having a watergun fight and it seemed like I was in a little neighborhood area that didn't go with the torn down house which was supposed to be being rebuilt. I vaguely remember talking with someone about the house and how knocking down most of the interior walls really made the place better and more open and it would be nice when they rebuilt it.
At some point Outland took me to a comic book shop I think, or somewhere I was reading a comic book, after I had read in my friend's blog how she didn't usually like comic books but she liked one particular character and had pics of him all over her blog. This was odd because my friend doesn't have a blog and isn't into comic books, and was using a different name from what I expected she would use if she made a blog. O started reading this comic book with an ad something about a superhero kit that came with the original character, one evil twin, and one "left" twin, whatever that means. I realized the character in the kit was Impulse, an actual real comic character. Suddenly I am reading an Impulse comic book where he is having trouble being divided inside, calling his selves "coldit" "hotit" and "midit" which is weird because he doesn't have heat and cold powers or anything like that normally. My perception of what's happening starts switching between me reading the comic book and visually seeing the drawn panels of art and words I'm reading in the word balloons, and me either watching Impulse as an omnipresent witness or from his point of view and me posessing him/being him. There is an evil lady who has him in her little house/apartment and is talking on and on about how she is going to cook him and eat him, she is preparing other meat to go with him, putting it in flour and coating it while she talks about his liver and stuff. She keeps telling him how tasty he will be and how foolish he was to end up in her house. At some point she is lying in her bed which is visible from the kitchen area as it's all one room, and she is wearing a frilly old fashioned nightgown and is no longer a human lady but a humanoid white wolf, very beautiful with a fully wolf's head, and she is talking to her pet cat and being nice to it petting it and the cat isn't afraid of her. Then she turns back into the human form and my perspective goes back to seeing the comic panels and Impulse is pulling his inner selves together saying "I call upon blankit, I am I, I am me" and he gets his 3 selves to come together so he has all aspects of his powers working together. In the picture he is huddled up concentrating with a shadow of a cloak kind of thing over him he is pulling down around his ears over his head. I found it odd he called it "blankit" to combine his selves. Back to the perspective of me being Impulse, the evil lady burns her hand while cooking and he/I say here, let me help, and I/he reaches out his hand to touch the back of her hand while she has it on a box of frozen peas trying to cool the burn. That freezes her hand to the box for an instant and she panics at being trapped and feels tricked into letting him/me help her, but then Impulse releases her from the box and her hand is better. Suddenly she doesn't want to cook him/me anymore and the dream changes focus as she rewards him/us with neopets items. (bit bizarre even for MY dreams.)
At some point in these dreams I was at my parents house in my old room trying to talk with Outland's younger brother who is an artist, and showing him my old artwork I had up on the walls. There was a lot of stuff hanging on the walls obscuring the artwork so I was taking down stuff like dried roses balancing up there with pins supporting them. The roses I recognized as being from rosebushes that don't exist in real life but have been in other dreams I had years ago. I was trying to tell him about the white ink on watercolor painting I did of bubbles, and my plans to someday do my memories painting of Worlds Through My Eyes of tableaus from my life different places we lived and memories floating in bubbles. My dad kept opening the door and standing IN the doorway to talk with us and i kept telling him either come IN or go OUT but close the door to keep my cats out so they didn't get into the keepsake stuff I was taking off my walls. The cats got in and I managed to catch them both at once and throw them out and I was frustrated because Outland's brother had to leave before I could show him the artwork. I got to talk with him about maybe setting up a time to have his kids set up with art supplies and they could all have a little art time together and maybe that would give him a little time to work on his art again. After he had to go I was washing my hands with all this weird cleaning supply stuff in the bathroom from the salesman my parents were watching demonstrate the products. The sponge scrubber looked like a sort of blobby spaceship. Then I was on the computer again reading through tons of strange links and that's about where I woke up.

I finally took my contacts out to encourage my staggeringly tired body to wind down and go to sleep. I've been listening to the music channels on the digital cable on the tv, it's kind of neat learning names and artists of songs I know the words to but never knew who sang them. I was switching back and forth between the Alternative and 80s channels. Right now Kryptonite is playing and it always makes me think of 2 things, one was cleaning my friend's carpet down on hands and knees going delerious for hours trying to get it all done overnight when they were moving out, I was singing snippets of the song over and over again, not sure if it was helping me stay sane or not... the other thing is going to the karioke bar where I had my bachelorette party later, the dj was getting that song as a request but they didn't have the karioke music and lyrics to it yet because it was too new.

I thought of a bunch of sayings I want to make into blogstickers now that I've learned about them.

Ok, seriously now, stop the net! I wanna get off! ^-^

Well looks like another up all night of adventures. I wandered around the web and this is what I found.

My Favorite image from Amanda's site:http://amanda.dd.com.au/gallery/dragons/flame.html

I also went wild buying stuff with my neopoints to put in my shop and sit there doing nothing but entertaining me. I helped someone on a quest and she surprised me by sending me a petpet I put in my shop to guard it. ^-^ She cheered me up after my dismay at being cheated.

Well, I finally got taken for a ride. grrrrrrrrrrrr. I got scammed out of 50,000 Neo Points trying to get a Faerie Paint Brush. What am I babbling about?? Neopets. ^-^ Anyway, I reported them, they blocked me from being able to use the site email feature to email them back, and I had someone go in their guild (club at neopets) and report them to their club. So I tried to cheer myself up a bit by blowing another 50,000 np buying pretty trinkets of power and sticking them up in my shop as unbuyable "gallery" items. I also threw in a couple of cheap plastic toy jewelry because my point is they are ALL pretty trinkets to me.
I made a version of tortilla soup for dinner tonight, made a HUGE big pot of it... I kind of mis-calculated mass of ingredients and barely got everything except the tortillas into the pot. I ended up ladling out servings into gladware containers and adding the torn tortillas and mixing them in as I dished out the servings. Then there was room for the tortillas in the main pot. We had MORE left over after dinner so now we have TONS of tortilla soup stocked up in the freezer. Outland didn't get the canned green chiles so it tastes different, but good. I used the end of the Tex Joy steak seasoning pan grilling the chicken breasts before they went in the soup. If we don't get more spices again we'll pretty much have garlic salt on everything. But then, I LIKE garlic salt. ^-^

Wednesday, March 20, 2002

Had adventures yesterday! I was supposed to go do stuff with 2 friends, Kisty and Celleigh, but Celleigh called and couldn't make it. Since she was planning to be our ride we had to make arrangements for ME to drive... which meant I called Outland at work to see if he could get a short break long enough to bring me the car and have me drive him back to work. The sweet little old man who works with him was the one who answered the phone and he misheard who I was asking for three or four times. When he realized who I was and who I was calling for, he said, "Oh, this is his wife, his Boss!" ^-^ So, we did the car rigamarole and I had to readjust to driving again after not really doing any driving in over a year now because of being housebound with pain half the time, and Outland's car being broken down the other half. I still technically need to get my driver's licence re-done since we moved to a new address, but we'll try that again next week as LAST time we went to get it done I couldn't go in as my abusive ex-fiance was there and I had flashbacks and panic attack and couldn't go in. Anyway Kisty and I were trying to get her out of state check cashed and we couldn't find a place to do it in the phone book so we went to my credit union (I call it the credit onion...) and made sure they would cash it if she signed it over to me. Then we ran back to her place to pay her landlord, which was why we needed the check cashed right away. We decided to eat at Souper Salad and we just barely had enough but it was great and Kisty kept checking out the cute waiter. ^-^ When we were leaving I had a little pang of remembering my grandmother liked that place but I never got to take her to the one here before she died. Never thought a planter chaped like a giant carrot would make me cry someday.... Out in the parking lot I apparantly missed some guy trying to rap and be cool to impress Kisty but he had NO rhythm... we came up with a sequel for out plans to write the "B" movie "Boy Bands From Outer Space" (must be read with echo effect...) We'll call the sequel "White Guys Can't Rap." However I'm not so sure that will work since some of my favorite rappers are white. ^-^
We paged the lady who owed Kisty her rent back since she ended up not moving, and were supposed to meet her at the hospital since her husband was in the hospital, but when we got there and waited for 30 min she wasn't there. This was AFTER my friend had to search for the key to return but it turned out her room-mate had taken it with him to work. I don't know HOW she was supposed to get the rent back without returning the key he didn't give her.... In the parking lot I was afraid to drive back out the way I came in since there was a car broken down near the toll machine's arm setting it to freaking out going partway up and down. I made up a silly little song trying to make the sun stay up. ^-^ We had to leave and made it home just as the street lights were starting to play havoc with my vision sending streaks of light everywhere because of my contacts not being large enough to cover my pupil when it's expanded from the dark. Outland walked home from work and we contacted the lady again and this time the meeting happened and my friend got her money back! Then we picked up chicken from KFC and I made mashed potatoes and green beans at home to go with it while Outland went back out to get CDs to burn on while Kisty worked on getting our cd burner to work. After much work on the computer, Kisty discovered that the new cd drive wasn't connected because it was missing one little grey wire, so she took it from the original cd drive and put it into the new one to see if that would make the new drive work and it now works to play music cds, game cds, and burned cds... but the burning software still doesn't work, something is really messed up with the buffer and the reason we bought what we did was partly for the special software supposed to prevent buffer troubles. Oh the irony. No anemia here.... ^-^
I ended up crashing hard while we were watching silly dating shows and yelling at the people on them... some were REALLY stupid people, I can't believe they let themselves be filmed for television.... I had a huge pain explosion before I fell asleep but it got better after about 30 min of cramps and shooting pain.

Monday, March 18, 2002

Last night I dreamed I was sharing a house with my parents again, Outland was there too. It was another one of those dreams where I'm struggling with a door. I kept trying to shut the door to my room to keep my brother out because he was bugging me and the door came off it's hinges. Then, using my obsessive exposure to home improvement shows, I decided to try to hang the door back up myself. When I started trying to get the hinges screwed back into the door that's when I discovered the door was somehow a really messed up hollow door that had compacted and was now only about 1/8-1/4 inch thick! It started breaking apart while I was trying to reinforce it. When it fell apart I went to my parents and explained I needed a new door, could we go out shopping for one. That's when they said oh, there are a couple of old doors in the other room being stored, so I went to look at them. They were old and heavy so I was going to use one, they had two, but then my mother said SHE had to use them for my parent's closet because my father didn't want anyone to be able to look in through the BACK OF THE VAN to see him changing clothes. Bizarrrely, my parent's bedroom closet opened into the back of a van, with the roof taken off and walls extended up and then windows all around the top, up high, in addition to the van windows. I went into the closet/van and looked up and could see my husband standing on a porch above me looking out and around but not looking down to see me while he seemed to be doing laundry. I waved and then he looked down and saw me, and came down somehow and there was a young woman with him who seemed to be our friend and both of them came into the closet/van through the back hatch door of the van. They were all excited because Outland had brought me a present. He gave me a large boxed set of OverPower collectable card game cards in what seemed to be a Harry Potter type box. I wasn't sure what to do with them, they are NOT really my kind of thing though in real life I've played it with my brother, using his cards. I kind of felt disappointed that Outland tried to do something nice to surprise me but it didn't relate to who I really am and what kinds of things I like. I was happy he tried though, so I tried to figure out a tactful way of telling him maybe we could return the cards for something on my wishlist of stuff I had made out and shared with him. I told him I loved the box, but I didn't really want to get into the cards. Suddenly I was on a bed sorting through old comic books and magazines looking for ElfQuest comics that were supposed to be in there with them and my father came in and said it was time to go get the new doors since the old ones didn't fit. So my whole family, but not Outland, were outside trying to get into the car. My grandmother was still alive and everyone was trying to figure out where to put her in the car. At some point my parents made a big deal of me sitting in the middle back seat of the car. Then something happened and my mother said maybe we could take MY car, and when my father started planning the seating arrangements for using MY car, wanting to stick me (and Outland) in the back and himself in the front, my mother said something to him about it was the kids (me and Outland) car and they should probably decide where to seat people because we would be driving. I was glad my mother seemed to be sort of standing up for me. It disturbed me that my dad seemed to be trying to figure out how to fit my grandma in the car like she was an inanimate object that wouldn't fit right in a seat. Once IN my parents car, we were driving past what was supposed to be a NASA shuttle launch but instead of a shuttle I looked out the window to see one of those round hub space stations on the launchpad. VERY un-aerodynamic. Everyone was talking about being in Florida again (we used to live there when I was six) and how being close to the space center was nice. I think that was about when I woke up. I never got my door.

Well I had adventures yesterday and last night. ^-^ My friend called me to tell me how her cat and preemie kitten were getting along after the vet, and while I was on the phone my husband came home and his friend who is a manager of the pizza store next to his work came home with him to visit! I had to run to the bedroom to change from my jammies (undies and t-shirt) WHILE I was still on the phone with my friend. We had a good visit though, he started talking with me about computer stuff, rpgs, his past on mirc, he asked about ElfQuest because of the poster we have framed in our living room. He brought Alien (or was it Aliens?) on dvd to watch but decided to just flip through the cable tv music channels and talk instead. He is really into rp and rpgs. Outland (hubby's nick) live action rpgs with him every Sunday night but I only got to go once, the guy isn't warmed up to being himself around me but I think it got better tonight. He is very reserved, in his own way. I like him and hope I get to hang out with him again.
After that adventure was over I got on mirc a little, then Outland got his turn, teasing because I'm ALWAYS on the computer and he hardly ever is. I got to see Good Morning Vietnam for the first time and it was a very different movie from what I expected from hearing people go on about it just quoting the radio persona stuff. It was one of those movies that was popular and overquoted so I never really planned to watch it. I TRIED to go to bed but after a few sleepless hours I got up and here in computerland again. I couldn't figure out how to delete files from my website after uploading them in cuteftp and I got lucky and found my friend again on mirc who sent me leechftp which was much better layout for me. Then after trying everything I could think of it finally let me delete folders AFTER I went through highlighting and deleting ALL the files inside them. Cleaning up the morass of repetitive files and junk took a while. My NEXT big moment of Eureka! was when I got a notion and tried saving a notepad text file as .html by just typing that in the Save As, and it WORKED!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy to be able to create webpages that way!! Just type it up in notepad and save as .htm ^-^ The new site seems to change all the extensions from .html to .htm so I had to go through and change all the urls in links. And all the urls for graphics. I THINK I have everything done now. Whew.

I had weird dreams today when I finally slept. I dreamed I was in an apartment that was SUPPOSED to be the one we're living in now, but it wasn't quite right, things were different. Someone was knocking at the door and when I opened it it was supposed to be the father of one of my freinds, and he said something odd about something he didn't want to see on both sides of the door, and I looked behind me and my husband was struggling trying to pull his shorts on to cover his butt, and I kind of hopped outside and closed the door to cover him and my friend was out there on my second story front porch and SHE was half naked too trying to put her underwear on and juggle her baby who was a toddler, but in real life he's not One yet. In real life she's VERY modest and paranoid about modesty even though when we met her wardrobe was kind of... well.. she would leave the house to escape her mother and change into clothes she now can't believe she ever wore. ^-^ You were SUPPOSED to look at her in the miniskirt and plunging neckline but not see her without her undies even if it's just us girls. So in the dream I was rather shocked to find her out on my front porch changing clothes pretty much in front of the world. But she was happy and in a hurry and acting like it was the practical thing to do since she was rushed and juggling her kid and running errands or something. Then he dad sort of vanished I guess, and suddenly before we could stop him, her baby climbed up on the balcony rail and JUMPED and tumbled down from our second story porch! We both FREAKED out and ran down the stairs and I she scooped him up and I was trying to tell if anything was broken or busted open but he seemed to be fine. He wasn't even crying, seemed to think we were funny for fussing over him.

Yay! I've been UP All Night! One more hour and I will have been up (and mostly online!!) for 24 hours!! I met 2 guys on mIRC who are helping me with my 5 Realms/Magic Manor project, and boy are my arms killing me!! Something weird is happening with my right wrist, shooting cold zapping from wrist to hand... hope sleep fixes it... Anyway, one is letting me host the site with him so there will be NO MORE POP UPS! The other is in Central time zone with me and will help with the site!! This is great since we need more people on the project! He volunteered to do maps! ^-^ We also rambled about fantasy authors like Edgar Rice Burrougs, and various computer things, Anthropology was mentioned, always a good thing. Outland woke up to find me still awake and just hugged and kissed me good morning, giving me the 'you're crazy' look. I got a wild hare from something someone said in the #fantasy channel about gummy worms so I had gummy worms for breakfast. :-P
Now I'm sorting through old message boards weeding out the pertinent information to get the new guy started with Magic Manor stuff. I learned to ftp tonight, downloaded both cuteftp and leech-something to see which I like better. Finally tracked down the Frontpage program in the morass of our hard drives, but haven't started editing out the junk from the webpages yet.

I'm sitting her working on making animated kitties with markings like mine while my husband is watching "Queen of Outer Space!" He's rolling on the floor laughing, it IS pretty funny. I think we'll want to watch it with friends sometime to do our own "Mystery Science Theater." One of the spacemen was told by the Venusian woman he was "very pretty" so he told her she was "handsome." Zsa Zsa Gabor is looking really classy. ^-^ Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, a huge rubber spider just jumped on a guy and bust into flames when they shot it!!

Well I've been working on messing with the template adding stuff and making graphics. I just made the component graphics I'll use to make little waving cats, I have them for 2 of my cats so far and will be working on the last one after this post. I have three cats, two are "cuddle kitties" Cutter and Skywise, and the oldest is the "Attack Kitty!" Ember. All of my cats are named after characters from ElfQuest. Ember is my first cat I can actually remember getting to live with, I had a cat when I was 2 that I don't remember, his name was Starfire, and we have old home movies on 8mm film of me trying to pick the poor cat up by the handy handle... his tail. We never had a cat after him because my mother couldn't handle it after the neighbor's dog ATE my cat.

Anyway, now maybe I can get on with making my own template for my blog. Maybe, gasp, I can finally SEE what my blog looks like!

Still trying to learn how to post to my blog, so far it doesn't seem to be working no matter what I do and I keep "editing" my first post trying to get it to show up. When I click the "view web page" link it comes up with "page not found" so I'm now starting to wonder if I actually do HAVE a page here.... I have been working on making graphics for my blog and trying to figure out how to make my own template so it will look the way I want it to. Like everything, this is an adventure.

March 14, 2002
Well here is my first post to my blog, since I don't know what I'm doing yet this will be mostly just me babbling till I think I have enough text to test this and see what happens. I've found the best way to learn new programs is to try out every feature and see what happens. I also love taking things apart and trying to figure out how they were made. Nowdays it's usually computer related, but I started young, when I was about 7 years old, taking apart my parents old radio clock, the kind with the flip numbers, and then putting it back together. Unfortunately the flip numbers were never the same, I somehow got it messed up so the top to the number no longer matched the bottom, so I had things like the top of a seven matched to the bottom of a three. My parents weren't happy with their new clock. *grin*
